Joint Contact for Outlook Add-In Requirements
- A Joint Contact Account (you can register for a free trial)
- Microsoft Outlook 2007
- Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Runtime(Click here for tools)
- Microsoft Visual Studios Tools for Office 2005 Second Edition Runtime (Click here for tools)
Install/Uninstall
To install the Joint Contact Outlook 2007 Add-In, follow these steps:To uninstall the Joint Contact Outlook 2007 Add-In, follow these steps:
- Close your Outlook 2007 application if it is open.
- Open the installation file by double-clicking on the file (JCSetup_8807.msi).
- Follow the Setup wizard directions, and click Finish when done.
- Reload Outlook 2007, and the Joint Contact Add-In should show.
- Close your Outlook 2007 application if it is open.
- Go to your Control Panel by Clicking Start -> Settings -> Control Panel.
- Find the icon for Add/Remove Programs and double-click on the icon.
- Find and select the software named Joint Contact for Outlook 2007.
- Click Remove.
- Check that the Add-In has been removed by reloading Outlook 2007.

Getting Started
The first step is to set your Joint Contact user information. There are many ways to do this, but the easiest is from the Outlook menu.This will display the Joint Contact Settings window.
- On the top level menu, click on Joint Contact (or Keyboard shortcut ALT + J).
- Click on Options.
- Enter in your Joint Contact username and password, and click on the Test Connection button. If the information is correct, a message box should prompt saying successful connection.
- Once you have a successfully inputted your user information, choose the Default Workspace in the list on the bottom. This Default Workspace will be the workspace where your conversations will be posted on Joint Contact.
- When done with the user settings, press OK.
Post an E-mail Message as a Joint Contact Conversation
When you have your Joint Contact user settings set, you can start posting conversations on Joint Contact from Outlook. The subject line will be used as the conversation title and the e-mail message as the conversation body.
To post your new email message as an conversation, follow these steps:To post an existing mail from your Outlook inbox as a Joint Contact conversation, follow these steps:
- Open a new mail window.
- Click on the Joint Contact tab on the top.
- Click on the check box for ‘Post Message as Conversation’.
- Enter your e-mail message.
- Click Send.
*Important: Attachments and images are not supported in Joint Contact conversations. Text and hyperlinks are supported.
- Open the existing e-mail you would like to post as a Joint Contact conversation.*
- Click on the Joint Contact tab on the top.
- Click on ‘Save Message as an Conversation’ button.
Post a RSS Feed Message as a Joint Contact Conversation
Not only can you post e-mail messages as Joint Contact conversations, but you can also post RSS Feed messages.
- Select the RSS Feed you would like to post from the Outlook folders on the left.
- Double-click to open the RSS Feed Message you would like to post.
- Click on the Joint Contact tab on the top.
- Click on ‘Save Message as an Conversation’ button.
Add a New Outlook Calendar Appointment as a Joint Contact Activity
To add a new outlook calendar appointment to Joint Contact, follow these steps:*Important: Only single activities can be posted at this time; recurring activities will not be posted. All day activities will be posted with times set at 12:00am to 11:59pm.
- Click on the Calendar tab on the left panel of your Outlook window.
- Click on New from the top left menu bar to open a Compose New Calendar Appointment window.
- Click on the Joint Contact tab on the top.
- Enter your appointment details.*
- Click on the Publish Event as an Activity button from the Joint Contact tab.
